
Eduardo Parra
Waste and Water Management Specialist
Specialist in environmental management, with an emphasis on waste and water, with more than ten years of professional and international postgraduate experience. He has performed with outstanding results in areas such as public administration, consulting and applied research.
He has a Master’s in Water Science and Engineering from the UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education based in Delft, the Netherlands. Former joint fellow of the Government of Japan and the World Bank. He completed a degree in Chemical Engineering at ITESO, obtaining an Honorable Mention in the corresponding annual thesis contest of the Guadalajara Chamber of Commerce.
As part of his continuing education, he has attended diplomas and courses in environmental management, waste and environmental impact with a focus on water projects. Recently, he has obtained a Certification in project management skills based on PMI and IPMA standards from Tecnológico de Monterrey.
Since 2007, he has gained experience both as an environmental consultant -mainly in waste management projects, characterization of contaminated sites and environmental impact-, as well as in public environmental management, holding positions in institutions such as CONAGUA and the Guadalajara City Council.
In his most recent positions, as Director of Comprehensive Waste Management in Jalisco and later at the national level, he has noted the challenges and opportunities that waste management entails, as well as its possible impacts on the environment, health and economy. Seeking to prevent these risks and impacts, it promoted the transition to circular economy schemes under principles of efficiency and transparency, with the application of knowledge, experiences and joint proposals from various related sectors.
